Little Ninja Program

We signed up our son to study Martial Arts at Granite State American Kenpo in Litchfield NH, back when Mr. Kevin Noviello first officially opened his doors, in February 2004. As parents of a gifted six year old child, that also has ADHD; we were hoping to find a source of focus for him, as well as an ongoing series of regular extra-curricular social interaction events. He liked it SO MUCH; he asked us if he could become a member of the Black Belt Club, because he fully intended to get his Junior Black Belt.

After going through years of training, and maintaining the ‘focus your eyes, focus your mind, focus your body’ mantra that Mr. Noviello instills into the students of the Kenpo Kids classes, he advanced through the ranks and was finally promoted Junior Black Belt. Then, to Advanced Junior Black Belt. Then, to Elite Junior Black Belt. We have taken GREAT pride in his accomplishments, and have told him these are rewards earned in life that no one can take ever away from him. He is now in the Teen/Adult program as well as the Weapons Club. He has also been an assistant instructor for the past few years, and assists with the instruction of four Kenpo Kids classes per week.

However, it wasn’t just the Martial Arts that kept our son there; anyplace could have done that. I believe Mr. Noviello’s approach to letting a kid have FUN is a key ingredient to his school’s success. In his regular Little Ninja’s and Kenpo Kids classes, as well as his series of Parent’s Night Out, Summer Family Picnic, Kids ‘Star Wars®’  themed Karate Summer Camps, Nuclear Dodge ball, or many other special events, he plans for fun. It can’t be martial arts techniques for kid’s regular classes all the time. And it’s not just about having fun during those activities, either. For example, during dodge ball, they’re learning about reflexes, control, how to think two steps ahead, limitations, honesty, and sportsmanship, to name a few.

Mr. Noviello also strives to keep Granite State American Kenpo active in the Litchfield community. Whether through his Kick-A-Thon to fight Breast Cancer, his one day free women’s self-defense course he holds yearly, his Non-Perishable Food Drive at the beginning of November, his Toy Drive at Christmas time, or one of the many other community projects he has undertaken; he keeps GSAK a forward facing business member of our community. My wife and I would recommend Mr. Kevin Noviello and Granite State American Kenpo without hesitation.

GSAK at first started as my child's karate school. Since then I have become an active member of GSAK as well and I continually look forward to each class. Mr Noviello and his staff are experienced and personable instructors who are genuinely interested in your health and life. GSAK has improved my strength, my stamina, and my agility. Each class differs from the last class while offering a full spectrum of workout and self defense training.  I recommend GSAK to anyone who want to improve their health and confidence and meet a great bunch of people.  Thanks GSAK!   Stephen Seeley

Our children love attending karate class at GSAK.  Since joining the school less than a year ago, we have noticed an improvement in their patience when needing help with somthing or waiting their turn.  One of our children often stands in attention stance while waiting in line at different places.  We often remind them of how to behave based on the lessons they are learning in class. It helps. My son has gained so much confidence since enrolling in GSAK more than 5 years ago. He's not only capable of protecting himself if needed, but he's also much more self disciplined. He looks forward to class every week and to someday achieving the rank of black belt. This is a direct result of the respect he has for Mr. Noviello and the skills he's learned in his studio.

Granite State American Kenpo has been one of the best experiences for our son for the past eight years. He has learned valuable lessons in Karate and in life skills as well.Not only has he been taught the physical aspects that Kenpo brings, but under the tutelage of Mr. Noviello  and his staff, he has learned leadership skills and moral expectations that Kenpo commands as well. It has helped him develop into the young man he has become.

My 11 year old daughter has been a student of Granite State American Kenpo for nearly 8 years.  Her level of self-confidence and high self esteem are a testament to the quality of lessons and training she has received from Mr. Noviello.   As a family, we are very satisfied with the school.
